A Beauty Pageant Saudi Style

In a country that demands that women dress modestly, cover their faces, and not wear makeup to enhance their appearance, what does any self-respecting Bedouin do in search of beauty in Saudi Arabia? It's simple. You have a camel pageant.  Apparently, that's the next best thing to a woman. This year 300,000 of the humped beauties showed off their assets.  In compliance with the rules, the contestants vie for the title of "most beautiful camel in the world" by showing off their 'untouched natural beauty'.  No breast or hump enhancements, cosmetic surgery, or dye jobs allowed.  There was no word as to whether or not a swimsuit competition was included.  But, the key judging criteria was based on "curly hair, pert ears, long lashes, and a high perfectly positioned hump".   Except for the hump part, it sounds like a traditional beauty contest to me.  The hump must be a real turn-on for the judges.

There is also no word if the "crowned" camel will subsequently appear on the U.S. equivalent of the Today Show or Good Morning America, or perhaps do a world tour.  For the record, I don't think Trump was involved with this beauty contest, although Saudi Arabia was suspiciously not included in the recent travel ban.  Perhaps another "impeach him" movement is in order.  Of course, we may find some old pictures of Nancy Pelosi or Chuck Schumer meeting with camels, then as usual, there will be scandal on both sides of the aisle..
