Thank God For A Slow Stimulus Package

As of yesterday, the Congressional Budget Office reported a rise in this year's deficit to $1.3 trillion dollars (Click to See Full Story). While that sounds like a big number (And, it absolutely is!), it could have been a lot worse. That's because only about $70 billion of the $787 billion dollars appropriated for the Stimulus Package has actually left Washington D.C.'s doors. If, say, $300 billion had been spent, instead of the mere $70 billion, we'd be closer to a $1.5 trillion debt by now. See! There actually is an upside to the Stimulus Package being so slow to stimulate! Of course, tell that to the extra 2-1/2 million workers who have lost their jobs because it has been so slow to grow this economy.

Let me see? Barack Obama and all the Democrats are still referring to it as a Stimulus Package? Right?
